January 2023 will have 15 bank holidays. See the list here.

January 2023 bank holidays have been released by the RBI. All public and private sector banks will be closed 15 days in January 2023, per the RBI. Second, fourth, and Sundays are holidays.

Some bank holidays are state-specific, but national holidays close banks nationwide. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) categorizes holidays as Negotiable Instruments Act, Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

First and third Saturdays are bank holidays.

Online and net banking will be available while banks are closed. Customers should organize their bank visits.

January 2023 Bank Holidays:

1 January 2023: Sunday (Because it’s New Year’s Day on January 1, banks will be closed.)

New Year’s Eve is on January 2, 2023. (Banks will remain closed in Aizawl)

3 January 2023: Imoinu Iratpa (Banks will remain closed in Imphal)

4 January 2023: Gaan-Ngai (Banks will remain closed in Imphal)

8 January 2023: Sunday

On January 12, 2023, Swami Vivekananda will have been born (Banks will remain closed in Kolkata)
