In India, there are over 500 million WhatsApp users, but only 100 million can use WhatsApp Pay. This move is part of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to grow the company by focusing on business messaging.
Until now, you could only shop through JioMart and use WhatsApp for metro systems in Chennai and Bangalore. Adding more payment options will help businesses on WhatsApp.
Meta also expanded its Meta Verified subscription program for businesses worldwide. This lets businesses show they’re genuine on Meta platforms and get extra support and protection from impersonation.
